Below is a list of nonprofit housing counseling agencies in the Baltimore area. Be aware that these organizations are getting a lot of calls now. Please be realistic and patient about how quickly they can respond to you. Because of this, you should call as early as possible. It does NOT mean that you shouldn't call. Foreclosure intervention counseling from these agencies is FREE.

NHS seeks to promote and sustain homeownership opportunities in the Baltimore region by providing several services for current and prospective homeowners. NHS offers HUD certified housing and foreclosure counseling as well as Homebuyer Education and Financial Fitness classes. NHS also offers lending services including a low interest, fully deferred home rehab loan, mortgage refinancing and first purchase financing.
