Mortgage Matters Workshop

HUD-certified housing counselors and other members of BHPC developed a 20-minute educational PowerPoint presentation entitled Mortgage Matters to introduce workshop participants to mortgage terminology and the foreclosure process.  This is part of an ongoing effort by the Coalition to help the citizens of Baltimore address the foreclosure crisis that is threatening their homes and communities.

Mortgage Matters is geared toward homeowners who think they may need help or are already having trouble paying their mortgages.  The presentation is intended to prepare these homeowners for productive counseling sessions and connect them with available resources.   This information will help the audience understand the foreclosure process and direct them on how to develop a plan-of-action when dealing with the threat of foreclosure.  Mortgage Matters also contains valuable information for renters whose landlords are in foreclosure.

BHPC staff or volunteers give Mortgage Matters presentations as requested.  If you represent a neighborhood association, faith-based organization, community group or civic association, please consider having a Mortgage Matters presentation at your next event!  Contact BHPC Coordinator Meredith Mishaga for more details.
